All over the world there seems to be a familiar problem with recycling computers - protecting your data and protecting the third world from the dangers of poisonous chemicals in I.T. equipment dumped in their landfill sites.

Here in the UK most companies we have dealt with want to protect their data, insisting that we destroy all potentially recoverable data on storage devices donated to us. And rightly so! By donating their redundant I.T. equipment to recycle-pc the company is also helping to alleviate the problem of third world countries being poisoned by chemicals exported from the UK.

Recycle-pc is in the middle of this computer recycling chain - by recycling unwanted equipment safely, legally and without charge, and donating it free to elderly, disabled, charity and community projects here in the UK in working order and internet ready.

There are other benefits too. For instance, volunteers can learn about recycling computers and we are able to help people get online for the first time. Also, you can benefit our charity by visiting our workshop (volunteers would like to show you what they do), donating and spreading the word with a little poster about recycle-pc.
